LUMINARE is a Latin word meaning "to shine”.
Luminare Art Program is a weekly, 2 hour after-school Art program, providing a structured platform for participants to unleash their creative potential and let their inner light shine. The program is run by our resident artist and MMCP Art Co-ordinator and teacher, Ms Aksionov. This unique opportunity delivers a range of inspirational and therapeutic benefits, positively impacting a young person's presence across different areas of life.
The expressive nature of art is the perfect vehicle to embody the mission of Mt Maria College Petrie in unlocking potential and inspiring the futures of our young people. This will significantly contribute to participant’s personal development by:
- Enhancing emotional well-being, positively influencing overall presence
- Improving problem-solving and critical thinking, boosting academic performance
- Fostering a supportive and inclusive environment including teamwork, communication, and a sense of community through collaborative art projects
- Enhancing social skills and a sense of belonging
- Offering an alternative avenue of communication
- Building confidence and a tangible sense of achievement, promoting more engaged presence in various aspects of life
- Expanding cultural understanding via exposure to different perspectives through diverse art forms.
Luminare Art Program is an invaluable resource. It will provide a secure and nurturing space enabling participants to shine and illuminate their inner selves. Spaces are limited so please sign-up early to secure your place.
